SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization, which consists in optimizing a series of aspects relating to a web site, with a view to improving its visibility and ranking among search engine natural or organic results (or even editorial results, which are different from sponsored ones).
It is the other major Search Engine Marketing component, which besides SEO also includes Paid Search (that is, purchasing search engine sponsored results).
